Phillipine-born, self-taught photographer, Mimi Peters began her work in photography in her early 30’s.
After relocating to Southern California, she became more involved in the arts.
Embracing her enjoyment for hiking and road trips intertwined with her passion for photography, it quickly became apparent for her love of exploring unusual places to photograph her work.
On the weekends, you can find her out scouting abandoned buildings off the side of a quiet highway where you hear nothing but the wind and the dirt kicking up in your face.
Her photos exploit the urban decay of old and abandoned buildings to examine the beauty that is overlooked.
The compositions she shoots are focused on what is still standing, and that change over time has made it an even more unique architectural find with a story to tell.
